The Rancho Family YMCA in Rancho Peñasquitos is proud to offer Adventure Clubs — a unique program where kids and their parents team up as explorer and guide, embarking on an unforgettable journey of discovery, connection and fun.
What Makes Adventure Clubs Special?
At the heart of every Adventure Club are our Compass Points:
- Family: Our “true north” — everything centers around the parent-child bond.
Nature: Outdoor adventures like camping and hiking help families connect with the world around them.
Community: Each group, called a “Circle,” fosters a strong sense of belonging and friendship.

What to Expect
Adventure Clubs are filled with meaningful, screen-free experiences, including:
Games, crafts, songs, skits and storytelling
Outdoor adventures like camping, swimming and hiking
Community service projects
Special one-on-one time for each parent and child
It’s a one-of-a-kind opportunity to strengthen your relationship, meet new friends and make lifelong memories — all while having a blast.

CANCELLATION POLICIES FOR ALL ADVENTURE CLUBS PROGRAMS
All Adventure Club program cancellations need to be processed via email to Mia Kelliher, mkelliher@ymcasd.org. If any cancellations need to be made, please provide ample amount of notice.
Before program start date: 100% voucher or refund less the deposit, uniform fees or vendor fees as applicable*.
On or after program start date: 75% voucher or refund less the deposit, uniform fees or vendor fees as applicable*.
On or after the second day of a program: 0% voucher or refund.
The purpose of Transfer/Voucher/Refund policy is to allow the YMCA to provide quality programs and proper ratios, while maintaining flexibility with members and program participants. All requests are subject to director approval and may take 3-5 business days for approval.
*Each campout has vendor fees accounted for in the total YMCA pricing – the amount of the vendor fees are dependent on the venue/campground and may not be included in your voucher or refund.
