You Can Help Make a Difference

At the YMCA of San Diego County, strengthening community is our cause. The Y is the nation’s leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Y works side-by-side with our neighbors every day to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn grow and thrive. To do our important work, the Y relies on the support from members, donors, volunteers and community leaders.

When you get involved with the Y, you help bring about lasting personal and social change. Whether you want to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve your or your family’s health and well-being, or give back and support your neighbors, your involvement with the Y will positively impact those in your community.

How Your Involvement Helps

In 2008, Clark joined Teens in Motion, an afterschool program for high school students with special needs. Today, Clark works at the United Cerebral Palsy thrift store in Pacific Beach, writes and records original music, and gives back to the Y by volunteering at one of our Teens in Motion sites where he serves as a role model for the students. This year, Clark went above and beyond his volunteer roles and campaigned for the YMCA Childcare Resource Service. He raised 700% of his goal and inspired everyone with his speeches during campaign events.
