HELPING INDIVIDUALS RETAIN EMPLOYMENT (HIRE)

BUILD SKILLS. EXPLORE CAREERS. TAKE YOUR NEXT STEP.

WHO WE SUPPORT

HIRE supports young adults ages 16–24 in San Diego County who are ready to take their next step toward work. Many participants are not currently in school and are navigating barriers to employment.

Whether you’re looking for your first job, working toward a GED, enrolled in an alternative school, or thinking about a long-term career, HIRE meets you where you are.

The program is open to all eligible participants, with a particular emphasis on outreach to Black youth.

What We Offer

HIRE provides education and employment services to help you explore career options, set goals, and build the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the workforce. You’ll work one-on-one with a career navigator who helps you figure out what you want to do and how to get there.

HIRE gives you tools, support, and real-world experience to help you move forward.

Support may include:

  • One-on-one coaching to set goals and plan next steps
  • Help exploring career options, school, and certificate programs
  • Job readiness and life skills workshops
  • Paid internships and real-world experience
  • Mentorship and professional guidance
