The Dan McKinney Family YMCA (formerly La Jolla YMCA) has been proudly serving La Jolla families since 1964. Dan McKinney Family YMCA offers a state-of-the-art wellness center complete with cardio equipment, circuit training, free weights and group exercise studios.

Sports at the Y: Do More, Be More

Gymnastics

Welcome to Dan McKinney Family YMCA gymnastics, where toddlers to teens can grow strong, get confident, find balance and jump into fun. Based on the skills, levels and progressions developed by USA Gymnastics, our gymnasts learn in an encouraging atmosphere as they build skills to progress through each level of the program. Child Care at the Y: Call on Us

The YMCA is the nation’s leading provider of child care. Playful, engaging options are plentiful for young children at the Y.

Child Watch: Parents can pursue fitness goals or enjoy various programs at the Y while their kids, ages 6 weeks – 12 years, are supervised by Y staff. Learn more.
Character Builders: Ages 5-12 are provided academic support and hands-on enrichment experiences before and after school in collaboration with teachers. Learn more.
Preschool: Dan McKinney Family YMCA offers a preschool that is licensed by the State of California. Preschool programs nurture children’s growth, instilling core values with licensed, safety-focused initiatives and trained staff. Learn more.

Camp with the Y: Our Doors Are Open

The YMCA of San Diego County is proud to offer several amazing camps where every child can build confidence and make new friends in a safe and nurturing environment. Members get up to 25% off camp registration and we offer scholarships to families who qualify. Learn more about day camp.

Membership and Program Assistance

The YMCA offers financial scholarships to reduce membership and program fees to those that qualify, helping ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Our scholarship program is based on a sliding fee scale that is designed to fit each family’s financial situation, and is available thanks to our generous Annual Campaign donors. Apply online for a scholarship here and find out if you are qualified for a membership and/or program assistance through express or traditional verification methods.
