HOLIDAY BREAK DAY CAMPS

Our camps are an exciting way to spend a school break! We include lots of action-packed activities that keep your children engaged and happy, like arts & crafts, sports and games. Set in the YMCA style of different crazy activities each and every day, your camper will have a great time while parents have peace of mind knowing their camper is safe. Register today!

2024 Non-Profit of the Year

The Joe & Mary Mottino Family YMCA has been named Non-Profit of the Year at the 2024 Heroes of Oceanside & Camp Pendleton Awards by the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce!

This recognition is a true honor and a reflection of the incredible work being done by our dedicated staff, amazing volunteers, and supportive community. We are so grateful to be recognized alongside other inspiring organizations and service members who make our community stronger!

PRESCHOOL

Preschool at the Y is designed to give your child the best possible start in life. Our experienced and caring staff are committed to making each day a fun and educational experience! Enrollment is open for our part-time and full-time programs. Weekly gymnastics lessons are included in our full-time program. NEW! Preschool Summer Day Camp

Looking for a fun and enriching camp experience for your preschooler or T-K child? The Joe and Mary Mottino Family YMCA offers weeklong day camps designed specifically for younger kids who aren’t ready for traditional camps starting at age 5. No preschool enrollment is required to join! With engaging themes like Dinosaur Adventures, Ocean Explorers, Splish Splash, Cosmic Kids, Music Makers, and Little Chef, each week is packed with creative activities and hands-on exploration. Camps run weekly Monday through Friday. Register today!

  • Cost: $289–$361/week
  • Dates: Weekly session run from June 16–August 1, 2025

CHILD WATCH

Y Community Plus members with family memberships have unlimited access to Child Watch services at 12 YMCA branch locations across San Diego County. With easy reservations through the YMCA app, you can focus on your fitness or unwind at the Y while your children play under the supervision of highly trained YMCA staff. Not yet a Y Community Plus member? Current Y members can upgrade to the Y Community Plus membership plan by stopping by any location. If you currently have Child Watch services as an add-on to your family membership, you may continue to use Child Watch services on a drop-in basis. Learn more.

  • Parents Days Off is the second Wednesday of every month from 12:00–3:00pm. Events includes snacks, games and crafts.

EGYM at Joe and Mary Mottino Family YMCA is officially here! Upgrade your workout with EGYM Smart Circuit! The smart circuit automatically adjusts to you, guides you through a custom workout and tracks your progress. Onboarding and EGYM wristband are available for $59. GYMNASTICS

Our YMCA is now offering monthly gymnastics sessions for children ages 18 months to 5 years!

DANCE

Dance to the beat and move your feet! Find the class that’s right for you and bust a move! Currently, we offer monthly sessions of ballet/tap combination classes on Thursdays:

WORLD DRUMMING
Discover the excitement of drumming! Our fun, hands-on class lets kids explore cool African and Caribbean rhythms while learning on real drums, shakers and bells. Drumming helps with focus, memory and teamwork—all while having a blast! Join us and feel the beat that’s been part of cultures for thousands of years. Get ready to move, groove and drum your way to fun!

AFTER SCHOOL RECREATION

The After School Rec program is a non-custodial program where students will participate in educational assistance, daily physical activities, STEM & literacy programming, along with building life skills & developing healthy relationships. Learn more.

LICENSED PRESCHOOL SPLASH & SWIM

Swim lessons are available for licensed preschool students. Interested in having your toddler get an early start in the water? Our licensed aquatics instructors will guide your little one as they learn water safety and basic swimming skills. Lessons include four 30-minute lessons (one per week in a calendar month). Register today!

EMPRESA ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL RECREATION SWIM CLUB

SWIM LESSONS

Make a splash this month! A great way to grow in confidence and learn the skills of water safety, swim lessons are available monthly for group, private, semi-private, parent/child and preschool-ages on Saturdays and weekdays. Registration for next month takes place on the 15th for members and the 17th for nonmembers. – Reserve your lesson today!

SWIM CLINICS

Dive into summer with fun, engaging swim clinics! These clinics will provide instruction from encouraging coaches and the opportunity to improve your swim skills! Clinics will begin in spring and continue through summer. Registration coming soon!

DIVE INTO SWIM TEAM

Swim team  are available for Novice level swimmers and Intermediate/Advanced (Bronze). Swim team takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with tryouts 4:00pm-4:15pm (by appointment only) and practices at 4:30pm. To tryout, swimmers should be proficient in 50 yards freestyle, 50 yards backstroke and 25 yards breastroke and butterfly. Email Head Swim Coach Isabella Chacon at ichacon@ymcasd.org to schedule your tryout today!

FAMILY FUN

We’re thrilled to bring our families together for some fun new activities. Register for all four classes and save! Register now for these exciting programs:

  • Gymnastics: Wednesdays, 11:30am
  • Little One & Fun: Fridays, 11:30am

Stay and play! These programs are for ages 2 to 5. Parents can stay and play or go get a workout in!

YOUTH SPORTS

Come out and play with youth sports and peewee lessons. Youth leagues and clinics are for ages 5-13. Peewee lessons and leagues are for ages 2-5.   • Youth soccer leagues – Registration will remain open until teams are full. We are proud to partner with San Diego Wave FC for our youth soccer leagues! – Register today!

  • Youth soccer clinics: Youth soccer clinics are monthly and here to take your game to the next level.

  • Peewee lessons: Young athletes, ages 2-5, can enjoy learning to love a sport at the YMCA! Lessons are monthly. – Register today!

MARTIAL ARTS

We are proud to offer many high-quality martial art programs that provide an encouraging, non-intimidating and family-friendly environment for students of all ages. Learn more.

Y’s Active Adults (55+)

MONTHLY YAA CLUBS

Are you looking to share your ideas, interests, and passion with other YAA members? Then these are perfect for you! The following clubs are currently running:

  • Arts & Entertainment Club — Join your fellow YAAs for local plays, concerts and community events. Events are usually Saturday or Sunday afternoons. For more information, contact Alexis Kramer at akramer@ymcasd.org.
  • WOW (Widows & Widowers) — Enjoy lunch and make lasting friendships. Newcomer’s welcome. Meets once a month on the second Thursday of the month at 1:00pm. 
  • Book Club — Hosted in the staff lounge. Book of the month and date coming soon. Meets first Friday of the month at 9:00am in the Mottino Y Conference Room.
  • Craft Club — Make simple-to-follow holiday crafts. All levels welcome. Ask Alexis or Gail for supply list (supplies are inexpensive). Located in Studio A. Meets once a month on Thursdays at 1:00pm.  
  • Cards & Games Club — Exercise your brain and have fun doing it. Feel free to bring a board game to share. Located in Studio A.
  • Hiking & Walking Club — Beginner walks and hikes in local area. Meets on Saturdays twice a month.
  • Movie Matinee — Stay tuned for next Movie Matinee. For movie title or questions, please contact Alexis Kramer at akramer@ymcasd.org.

  • Fitness Schedule: We are so thrilled to have so many YAA classes on the schedule. Let’s continue to keep our attendance high!
  • Personal Training Tips: Do you have questions about our machines or equipment in the Fitness Center? Do you have a general question about an injury and need advice about what to do? Our friendly trainers and they will be glad to meet with you. They can show you specific exercises or set up a program for you. Look for staff wearing a black personal trainer shirt.

We’re listening to your comments and hear you are enjoying all of our low impact classes just as they are. Keep in mind, that we are always open to your suggestions and value your input for a better and stronger YAA program.
