“My family and I are proud members of the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA. We have been members of the Y for 9 years, since we moved back to San Diego.
During my enlistment, we were blessed to find out about the hidden gem YMCA and the summer camps they offer. With child care being so expensive, the Y provided a safe space for my kids to grow and develop physically, mentally and socially, at an affordable price. And they have programs that assist if the cost is too high.
Over the years, my kids have developed many friendships. When I leave my kids at the Y, I leave with a clear mind that they are safe and treated fair and with respect … I just can’t say enough of the camp staff members that take care of the kids. These young men and women are outstanding and take pride in what they do.
In a nutshell, my kids are now 12 and 15 and still attend the camps the Y has to offer, because, guess what — we have to keep on working. And I know where my kids are and what they are doing. Thank you, YMCA.” — Mario
