AREAS OF IMPACT
At the YMCA of San Diego County, we recognize that the challenges facing children, youth, and families are deeply connected. Access to basic needs, supportive relationships, health, and opportunities to grow all shape community well-being and belonging.
That’s why our work spans multiple social issue areas. Together, they remove barriers, strengthen systems, and create pathways for people to thrive at every stage of life.
OUR APPROACH
We believe community well-being happens when people have what they need to feel stable, connected, and supported.
Guided by Positive Youth Development (PYD), we create environments where relationships, belonging, and growth can take root.
Our work doesn’t stop at direct services. We:
- Listen to community members across all ages and stages of life
- Use data and real-world insight to improve what we do
- Partner with communities and policymakers to strengthen systems
This approach allows us to improve outcomes today while helping shape a stronger future for San Diego County.
